About Your Teacher

Hello friends, I am Hemant Singh Rana, a Journalist and certified Competent Communicator. I have spent more than a decade on the editorial desk of leading national newspapers and magazines, rewriting and rephrasing news reports and making them grammatically fit for publication. But that’s not important. What’s important is my love for English language and the happiness that I derive from teaching it to as many people as I can to help them become effective communicators; and EnlivenEnglish is the outpouring of this love and happiness.

I am a firm believer in the concept of sharing. “The more we share, the more we get; the more we open ourselves to the world, the more good things we attract for ourselves”. I have experienced it, that’s why I can say it assertively.  EnlivenEnglish is, therefore, not just a channel but a medium to share with you all the experience and knowledge that I have gained over the years from the close association with the language.

I need not mention a good command of the language opens the door to innumerable opportunities. English can be your doorway to success too, provided you are at home with it. This can only be possible if you are in touch with the soul of English, which is GRAMMAR. There’s a big misconception that fluency is more important than being grammatically correct and GRAMMAR is too technical to understand. The truth is otherwise. Your fluency may work sometimes, but not all the time. It reminds me of one of the famous statements by the late US President Abraham Lincoln: “You can fool all the people some of the time and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time.” If you are grammatically incorrect while speaking, an audience with a good understanding of the language will catch you. Unless you become familiar with GRAMMAR, you will always remain susceptible to getting caught on the wrong foot. A speaker may escape sometimes, but for a writer, a grammatically incorrect piece or application, is suicidal. A document once written and submitted can’t be amended, and it will only result in “end of the story”.

To cut the long story short, you have to become friends with GRAMMAR. Its friendship is only going to benefit you, so fret not. GRAMMAR is breathing with life and talking to you all the time. The moment you start listening to its voice, you don’t have to make any effort to learn the concepts. Through EnlivenEnglish, I will make sure you fall in love with GRAMMAR, which is ready to embrace you, and understand the concepts in an entertaining manner with the help of practical examples from the daily life.
